Disability-related health supports are supports the NDIS fund where your disability impacts your health. If you need help to manage a health condition because of your disability we can send a registered nurse to support you if the NDIS have funded your plan with Nursing Care. In some cases we can assist you without the NDIS funding support.
CHECS provides Specialist Support Coordination, it is a higher level of support within the NDIS, designed for individuals with complex needs who require specialised assistance in managing their support environment and overcoming significant barriers. It goes beyond basic support coordination, offering expert guidance and tailored strategies to ensure participants receive the right supports at the right time. The NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) provides assistance with accommodation and tenancy support, helping individuals with disabilities find and maintain suitable housing. This support covers a range of needs, including finding and maintaining housing, navigating the private rental market, accessing public or community housing, and managing tenancy responsibilities. CHECS will asist you to find and secure accommodation and tenancies short or long term appropriate to your needs and disability if you have accommodation and tenancy assistance in your plan.
We assist participants with finding suitable accommodation, understanding rental responsibilities, and sustaining long-term housing.
Supported Independent Living (SIL) is an NDIS funding option that helps individuals with disabilities live independently in their own homes, or the home of their choice, often with the support of other NDIS participants. Respite, on the other hand, is a short-term support service that provides relief to primary caregivers, allowing them to take breaks while ensuring the ongoing care of the individual with a disability. SIL provides ongoing, often 24/7, support for daily living tasks and personal care, while respite is typically used for short-term breaks, like a weekend or a few days. CHECS can assist in finding SIL or Respite accommodation for you. CHECS has many contacts in various areas of Qld that will help you relocate to where you fell most at home. \
We help participants get to work, appointments, education, and community activities when they’re unable to use public transport independently. We can travel to other states, towns, suburbs if you have funded transport in your plan.

We support NDIS participants to engage in social, recreational, and community-based activities, appointments, meetings, gatherings, reunions, and parties. Those things that build confidence, independence, cement relationships, build networks, challenge, train and skill you!
We help NDIS participants with mental health challenges build skills, increase independence, and take control of their recovery journey through dedicated coaching and support.
CHECS mplements behaviour support plans involving a syistematic approach, from assessing an individual's needs and identifying triggers to developing, implementing, and reviewing a plan with strategies to address challenging behaviors and promote positive ones. This process often includes individualized positive behaviour support strategies, the use of positive reinforcement, and potentially regulated restrictive practices as a last resort.
